Middle School Program

Summer and After-School Opportunities for 6th-8th Grade Students

Navigating Middle School for a Bright Future

The Dream Center Academy middle-school program is intentionally designed to keep our students on target in middle school and prepared for a successful transition to 9th grade. We provide our students with a five-week summer program and a daily after school program throughout their middle-school years. DCA’s middle school program serves students from the summer before they enter middle school through their summer before entering high school. Once students enter high school, our high-school programming begins.

Summer Program

  • Monday – Friday

  • 8:00am – 3:00pm

Includes breakfast, lunch, and snack. Morning classes focus on language arts, math, science, and social studies, and afternoon classes provide enrichment clubs. Each grade engages in two field trips and one college tour during Summer Academy, visiting a different NC college annually.

After-School Program

  • Monday – Thursday

  • 3:15pm – 6:30pm

Each day includes healthy snacks, recreation, grade-level community meetings, homework support, academic tutoring or enrichment clubs, and team time. Throughout the school year, students participate in field trips, service projects, and character development sessions.

Since becoming a DCA student in 6th grade, I have grown so much academically and socially. I have gotten to experience things that an ordinary High School student has never even thought of, including going on service projects, job -shadowing experiences, and even getting to fly a plane! Which was AMAZING! I was even allowed to bring along a DCA teacher. That same teacher has allowed me to work in the Middle School program as a 7th-grade intern. It has been a blast working with these students and being able to build a relationship with each of them. It’s thanks to DCA and the support of people like you that I get to do all of these things! Thank you for believing in me. You are changing the trajectory of my life!
